David Grubbs Scholarship
David Grubbs was born into a Church of God pastors family. His parents, J.D. and Inez Grubbs served churches throughout the southeast United States as well as Wabash, Indiana. David graduated from Anderson College in 1960 and was awarded an honorary doctorate by the university in 1974. He was an ordained Church of God minister for over 50 years, serving three congregations in Kingsport, Tennessee, Dayton, Ohio, and Newport Beach, California. In 1990 he founded David Grubbs and Associates, a consulting and fund raising firm specializing in raising major gifts for Churches, schools, universities, civic organizations, and assisting in philanthropic endeavors of clients. He was instrumental in raising hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. David had a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and spent his life helping others realize their dreams.
Along the way he enjoyed significant friendships with leaders such as Ken Blanchard, Robert Schuller, Bill & Gloria Gaither, John Maxwell, Dr. Robert Reardon, Dr. Elton Trueblood, Dr. Maurice Berquist, Dr. Gerald Marvel, Dr, Sam Hines, Dr. Ron Fowler, Dr. Ben Reid, Dr. Horace Shepherd, and a very special bond with Dr. James Earl Massey.
